Recycled to last

Great looking surfaces that are reusable, 100 % recyclable and contain at least 30 % recycled materials. We buy back used Durat furniture and offcuts.

Durat solid surface is made in Finland. It is an excellent choice for kitchen countertops, vanity units, sinks and several other bespoke furniture when distinctive appearance, durability and easy maintenance are required.

Durat is part of SäläSalonki exhibition

Durat is delighted to be part of SäläSalonki, a new exhibition highlighting the diversity and vitality of Finnish design and architecture. Held alongside Helsinki Design Week, the event brings together established names and emerging creative talents from across the design field.

Set in the former social facilities of the Hanasaari power plant, the exhibition gives a new life to an industrial space that is opening to the public for the first time this summer. SäläSalonki is presented by Sälä Magazine and nomadic gallery Salonki, and marks the launch of the magazine’s third issue, Nourishment.

The exhibition explores the many forms of nourishment - from the ideas and experiences that inspire us to the environments and objects that shape our everyday lives. For Durat, the event offers an inspiring opportunity to connect with fellow Finnish designers and contribute to an open exchange of ideas and perspectives.

SäläSalonki is open 27–30 August 2026 at the former Hanasaari power plant.

We are proud to support an initiative that creates a platform for fresh ideas and emerging talent, while celebrating the rich and evolving landscape of Finnish design.

Durat's first EPD environmental report is certified

An Environmental Product Declaration, or EPD, is a document which transparently communicates the environmental performance or impact of any product or material over its lifetime. EPD's signal a manufacturer's commitment to measuring and reducing the environmental impact of its products and services and report these impacts in a transparent way.

According to the calculations made for the environmental report, Durat's carbon footprint is 3,57 kgCO2e.

We make sustainable desirable

Durat is manufactured by crushing recycled post-industrial waste plastic into granulates. This creates a distinctive, vivid 3D surface that is sumptuously silky and warm to touch. The material is then cast into sheets as well as various bathtubs and sinks.
